Illustrated Book Writing Programme
Kalakatha is an illustration and book-writing programme that introduces children to the exciting process of creating their own illustrated books. Children explore ideas, develop characters and stories, work with words and images, and learn how illustrations can work together with writing to bring a book to life.
The programme encourages children to become writers, creators and visual storytellers, while developing imagination, writing skills and creative confidence.
Kathasagar
Storytelling Programme for Children
Kathasagar is a storytelling programme that helps children discover the joy and power of telling stories. Through storytelling, discussion, creative activities and performance, children develop articulation, public speaking, imagination, confidence and expressive skills.
The programme encourages children not only to listen to stories, but to find their own voice, shape their ideas and become confident storytellers.
Meet the Franchise Director
Dr. Swetha Prakash
Dr. Swetha Prakash is a well-known children's author and storyteller. She completed her postgraduate studies in London and brings a rich combination of literary, cultural and educational experience to Pachyderm Tales London.
Swetha is the author of Indian Storytelling Traditions and eleven other books spanning Indic literature, children's books, short story collections and poetry. Her work reflects a deep engagement with India's rich storytelling and literary traditions.
She has received a grant from the Indic Academy to record and share Indic stories on YouTube. She is also a recipient of the Times and Scottish Book Trust Jura New Writer Award and the Charles Wallace India Trust Award.
As Franchise Director of Pachyderm Tales London, Swetha brings her experience as an author and storyteller to create meaningful opportunities for children to engage with writing, illustration, storytelling and cultural narratives.
